In short: we collect what it takes to run your trip safely and price it correctly, and we do not sell your data to anyone. We share it with the captain or rider on the other side of your trip, with a small set of named technical providers, and with the authorities only on a lawful request. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
1. Who we are and what this covers
This policy is issued by PIXELAT ("NGEEZ", "we", "us"), the company that owns and operates the N-GEEZ brand, registered in the Republic of Yemen with its office in Aden. We operate the NGEEZ app for riders, the NGEEZ Captain app for drivers, and the website ngeez.com — together, the "Service".
It explains what personal data we collect about you, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to riders, to captains, and to anyone who contacts our support team.
We are the party responsible for this data. Write to us at support@ngeez.com with any question about it.
2. What we collect
We collect the following, and nothing beyond it without telling you first.
| Category | What it includes | When we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | Phone number, name, a profile photo (optional), preferred language. | When you create or update your account. |
| Location | Precise device location, pickup and destination points, and the route travelled. | Riders: while you are using the app to request or follow a trip. Captains: for as long as you are online or on a trip, including while the app runs in the background. |
| Device data | Device identifier, model and operating system, app version, push notification tokens, IP address. | Every time the app connects to us. |
| Trip history | Date and time, service class, trip points, distance and duration, fare, trip status, cancellations, ratings and the notes riders and captains leave about each other. | With every trip or delivery. |
| Payment and wallet records | Chosen payment method, wallet movements and balance, receipts, amounts owed to or by you, and the transaction reference held by a payment partner. | When you pay, top up your wallet, or a captain is settled. |
| Captain identity and vehicle documents | National ID or passport, driving licence, vehicle registration and insurance, plate number, and the captain's photo. | At captain sign-up, and whenever a document is renewed. |
| Messages | In-app chat between rider and captain, and support conversations — including WhatsApp threads and email — with any attachments sent in them. | When you message us or the other party to a trip. |
| SOS events | The fact that the emergency button was pressed, with your location and trip details at that moment. | When you use the button. |
We do not ask for and do not collect data about your health, beliefs, political or tribal affiliation. We do not record audio or video inside the vehicle.
3. Why we use it
- Running the service. Creating and verifying your account, matching you with the nearest available captain, showing the route and price, and carrying the trip or delivery through to completion.
- Pricing and payment. Calculating the fixed fare, waiting time and cancellation fees, issuing receipts, running the wallet and any outstanding balance, and settling captain earnings and our commission.
- Safety and security. Verifying captains and their vehicles, responding to SOS events, investigating incidents, reports and complaints, and protecting riders, captains and their property.
- Preventing fraud and abuse. Detecting suspicious accounts, trips and payments, and enforcing our terms.
- Support. Answering your questions and handling disputes about a fare, a trip or a parcel.
- Operational notifications. Sending login codes, trip status updates, and account or document alerts.
- Improving the service. Looking at usage in aggregate to improve coverage, waiting times and app quality. We do not use identifiable individual data for this.
- Legal compliance. Meeting our accounting, tax and regulatory obligations, and responding to lawful official requests.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we neither sell nor rent it.
4. Legal basis and consent
We process your data on one or more of these grounds:
- Performing our contract with you — the Terms of Service you accepted when you created your account. Without this processing the Service cannot be delivered at all.
- Your explicit consent — specifically for access to your location, to your camera or photo library, and to send you notifications. You give this consent through your device's permission prompts and can withdraw it at any time in your device settings.
- Our legitimate interest in securing the platform, preventing fraud and improving the service, where that does not override your fundamental rights.
- Legal obligations imposed on us by the laws in force in the Republic of Yemen.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew it. Note, though, that turning off location permission makes requesting or accepting trips impossible in practice.
6. How long we keep it
We keep each category only as long as its purpose requires, then delete it or strip everything that identifies you.
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account data: name, phone number, photo, saved places, devices and sessions | Deleted when you delete your account. |
| Trip and financial records: receipts, wallet movements, settlements and commission | Kept for the period accounting and tax rules require — 10 years as at the date of this policy. When you delete your account these records are separated from your identity and kept anonymised. |
| Location traces attached to trips | 12 months from the trip, unless the trip is subject to an open dispute or safety report, in which case until that closes. |
| Support conversations, WhatsApp threads and email | 24 months from the last message. |
| Captain and vehicle documents | For as long as the partnership lasts, and 3 years after it ends. |
| SOS events, safety and incident reports | 3 years, or until any related legal proceeding ends, whichever is longer. |
| Server technical logs | 90 days. |
What is removed immediately and what survives deletion is set out on the account deletion page.
7. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures proportionate to the data: encryption in transit between the apps and our servers, encryption of sensitive data at rest, access to customer data restricted to staff whose work requires it, an audit log of those accesses, two-factor authentication on staff accounts, and regular backups that we test by restoring them.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the competent authorities without undue delay, tell you what happened, and tell you what to do about it.
To protect your account, only one session per account may be active at a time: signing in on a new device ends the previous session automatically.
8. Your rights
At any time you may ask us to:
- Give you access to the personal data we hold about you, in a readable electronic format.
- Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete. Most of it you can edit yourself in the app's settings.
- Delete your account and personal data, as described on the account deletion page — subject to records the law requires us to keep.
- Act on a withdrawal of consent — you can turn off location, camera or notification permissions in your device settings whenever you like.
- Stop or restrict a particular kind of processing. We will tell you what that means for your ability to use the Service.
- Handle a complaint. Write to support@ngeez.com, or complain to the competent supervisory authority in the Republic of Yemen.
We answer within 30 days of verifying your identity. To protect your account we may ask you to enter a verification code sent to your registered phone number before we act. There is no charge, unless a request is plainly repetitive or excessive.
9. Children
The Service is for people aged 18 or over. We do not create accounts for anyone younger and do not knowingly collect their data. If we find that an account belongs to a minor we suspend it and delete the personal data on it.
A minor may of course travel as a passenger on a trip booked by, and accompanied by, a responsible adult. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we hold data about your child, write to support@ngeez.com and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the Service or the rules that apply to it change. The current version always lives on this page, with the effective date above updated.
If a change is significant and affects your rights, we will tell you in the app or by phone or email a reasonable time before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated policy.
